Could CBD help my dog

What is CBD?

CBD or Cannabadiol is a naturally-occurring, non-psychoactive phytocannabinoid that occurs in hemp. By encouraging photocannabinoids to bind to the receptors in our body we can assist in regulating functions; from natural plants we can find an organic, natural way to provide balance to the body.

Is CBD legal?

"Yes! As long as the percentage of THC in an extract is under 0.3% then it is classified as Hemp Oil and can be sold, shipped, and ingested as a dietary supplement. None of the products we offer have any psycho-active effects and will produce no 'high.' All of our products are lab tested to ensure complacent levels of practically no THC as well as guaranteeing the levels of CBD advertised are really present."

What ailments might CBD help?

Scientific and clinical studies have shown that CBD could be therapeutic for chronic pain, cancer, anxiety, diabetes, epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, sleep disorders, seizures, cardiovascular disease and neurological ailments.

Where does the CBD oil in the Suzie's Pet Treats products come from?

Suzie's lab-analyzed Cannabidiol extract comes from their co-op farm in Colorado. By cultivating a close relationship with our partners at the farm they can follow products from farm to friend to ensure exceptional purity in each and every item and know exactly how and where the products are produced.

CBD drops can help many dog ailments!

Why choose Suzie's?

"We at Suzie's CBD Treats are dedicated to offering exceptional purity in both our products and our business. We believe that offering accurate information in a transparent manner is essential. No smoke and mirrors are needed if you offer a product that you truly believe in and can stand behind knowing each and every step of its production. Many companies selling CBD products today use an 'isolate' form of CBD that claim to be 100% Cannabidiol, comes in white crystalline form and is primarily produced in China. These variations of CBD produced overseas do not meet our standards of a whole plant extract grown by farmers we trust. Our friends and partners are farmers in northern Colorado who practice organic farming and whose goal is to provide the cleanest CBD plant extract to as many people as they can. All of our products are lab tested for exact content of Cannabidiol present and to ensure the absence of THC.

"Another tactic some companies use is to advertise is to display milligrams of cannabinoids present not necessarily milligrams of Cannabidiol. While it is true that a full spectrum of cannabinoids is beneficial working in synergy with each other, this can often just mean there is less CBD actually present than they are trying to make you believe.

"By no means are we saying we have the only great CBD products around, we simply encourage people to educate themselves. Exercise caution when purchasing and don't be afraid to ask companies where their products are grown, extracted, and lab tested."

How many drops should I give my dog?

"This is the million dollar question.  We wish we could give you an exact answer but unfortunately every case is different. Depending on size, metabolism, age, and severity of ailment each animal will require a 'customized fit.' We are happy to provide you with some general guidelines but we leave the final decision up to the pet parent or holistic veterinarian.

"You'll find that on the back of our biscuits, we recommend 4mg per 50lbs.  Generally speaking, the biscuits are more for maintenance and to promote overall health and wellness.  For more chronic or severe issues we recommend our tincture.  A good starting point is 1mg per 10 pounds of body weight per day, best split between 2 doses (am/pm).

"We have 4 different strengths of oils to provide you with options based on size of animal and frequency of dosing.  Our 125 milligram oil is considered our cat oil or toy breed dog oil.  This oil has 3 milligrams in one full dropper and 1.5 milligrams in a half of a dropper.  Designed for animals from 2 pounds to 30 pounds.

"Our 250 milligram oil is for small to medium sized breeds.  One full dropper is the equivalent of 6 milligrams and a half of a dropper is 3 milligrams.  This bottle is designed for animals anywhere between 30-60 pounds.

"Our 500 milligram oil is exactly the same strength as our 250 milligram bottle. (6 milligrams per each full dropper)  however you are getting twice as much product but not paying twice the price.  This bottle is designed for families want to save a little money by buying in bulk.  If you are using our tincture on your medium sized dog everyday, or you have multiple medium sized dogs that you are administering the oils to, this will be the most cost effective choice.  Keep in mind that this is a 2oz bottle and the pipette is slightly longer. We consider 'a full dropper' whatever you can pull up from a full depression of the bulb.  It appears to be slightly more than a half of the dropper.

"Our most potent strength is our 1,000 milligram bottle.  This bottle is designed for large breed dogs, multiple dog households, or for sharing with your furry friends.  One full dropper is 12 milligrams.  Again, this is a 2oz bottle, so keep in mind that the pipette is going to be slightly longer.  One dropper is considered whatever can be pulled up from a full depression of the bulb.  It will look like slightly more than half of the dropper is full however this is a 'full dropper.' You will be administering 12 milligrams of CBD oil.  If you'd like to use the 1,000 milligram bottle on animals that are under 100 pounds, you can use half of the dropper for a total of 6 milligrams for each serving, and 1/4 of the dropper for a total of 3 milligrams per serving.

"As you can see, each strength is totally customizable!  Remember that dosing is not an exact science.  There is no risk of overdose.  You may notice that you have given a little too much if you pet seems extra lethargic or develops a loose stool.

"On the flip side, if you aren't noticing any improvement in your pets behavior or mobility, you may have not given them enough.  A good rule of thumb is to bump up the dose by 1 milligram at each serving, until you find the sweet spot! We know this can seem a bit overwhelming, but you'll have the hang of it in no time! With any holistic remedy patience, diligence, and consistency are key.  Your pet will thank you!"
