As part of our marketing efforts for the shop, I (Hope) regularly look at requests from reporters looking for input for their stories. I try to concentrate on the dog-related stuff, it’s certainly what we know best and have built our lives around.

But this week there was an intriguing question from a business reporter; As an entrepreneur, what song inspires you, and why?

That question caught my attention. On social media I often see people mention songs they like to work out to, that gets their heart pumping. Or songs that are great for long drives. But not what inspires in life.

Mine is “I Hope You Dance,” by Lee Ann Womack. It reminds me to be brave every day. That I’ve made some choices that haven’t proven easy. But worth it.

I’m not really a country music fan, and this song is certainly more spiritual than my usual play list. But it resonates for me. I choose to dance!
