I love my job

Everybody should think they have the best job in the world – it’s important to have a smile on your face when you’re thinking about going to work.

Unfortunately – everybody is wrong, because I have the best job in the world. Especially when I look over to my right and see this little guy next to my desk.Torque at work

Torque has been coming to work with me a couple of days a week since I brought him home. He’s a wonderful office companion – and generally a good boy in the shop. He gets up to greet other dogs coming in, but he doesn’t fuss or object to their presence. He loves it when people stop to say “hello!” to him – but he doesn’t get offended if they don’t.

In lots of ways Torque’s the most easy-going dog I’ve ever owned. So far, he’ll play with any dog, loves every person (although he does have some special favorites), is able to relax when it’s not time to play, and is content to chew on a toy while I work.

I know that he’s only six months old and teenager-ness could set in at any moment. But I’m enjoying the stage we’re in right now – the one where’s he’s rather completely delightful. I wish everybody had the opportunity to take their dogs to work. I think that we’d all be happier and much more productive if we had the chance to go for a little walk a couple of times during the day, took 10 or 15 minutes to play a couple of times, and could take a nice nap after lunch.

Oh, wait. That’s Torque’s schedule, not mine.
