Motivation is lacking

Fran on Friday!

I bring Tango and Booker to the shop with me on Fridays for several reasons: I’m here all day so it gives us plenty of opportunities for multiple short training sessions. It’s usually pretty quiet, without outside interruptions. (Of course this morning the phone was ringing off the hook!) And they’re nice and tired by the end of the day, when I want to have a peaceful evening.

But, when none of us have the ambition to get up and do stuff, where to get the motivation?

I just think about one thing that I can do in five minutes. I can begin to introduce Tango to his back feet with a new behavior. Booker can practice following my shoulder as we run in circles around the ring. (I get a head start and when he catches me at my side, we have a good game of tug.) Five minutes. That’s it. I can do five minutes of anything. And by the end of five minutes, we’re all tired and the boys need a nap! Unfortunately I have to go back to work, but it’s worth it. I feel virtuous, having done another training session.
