Bounty from a neighbor’s garden

We have the most accepting neighbors. Four dogs playing can be loud. Especially with the windows open! Last night after agility class – at about 10 pm – Teddy decided he wanted to play. Teddy initiates play by barking. Teddy’s bark resonates from deep within his chest (and a French Bulldog’s chest is impressive) and rumbles out in a roar. Torque decided that he wanted to join in. Torque’s bark is more like a scream. A loud scream. And then Tango had to add to the fun. Tango’s bark is not pretty – it’s shrill and piercing. Then all four dogs started racing around the house, barking and having a great time. Loud play ends soonest when it ends naturally, we’ve learned. So within 10 minutes all was quiet again. But those 10 minutes were extremely noisy!

This morning during our first outing of the day, at about 6 am, I had already put Tango in the house but Booker was still deciding on his business. Our neighbor had been harvesting tomatoes in her garden, saw me (I waved apologetically) and motioned me over to the fence. To my surprise she gave me a few tomatoes! They’re going to be great! We are so grateful for our neighbors!
