It’s always something

Our life is usually pretty hectic – working at our own business every day (24/7), four dogs, a vintage home, at least two evenings of class every week, as well as all the regular “stuff” that everyone deals with.

So we thought that almost a whole month of no classes for a holiday break would result in some much-needed down time.

Not so much. We hosted/arranged/planned three parties in two weeks, Tango had something going on with his eye and had to make weekly vet visits, Teddy all of a sudden had some breathing issues for more vet visits, the garage door broke, we had all of our holiday baking to do (we give home-baked treats to our friends), as well as all the regular “stuff” that we all deal with on an every day basis: the regular cooking, cleaning, dog training, playing with puppies, and poop picking-upping, etc.

The best part of having your own business is being able to deal with emergencies as they arise – as long as one of us is at the shop, the other can handle whatever running around needs to be done.

But it seems there’s been an awful lot of running around instead of slowing down, enjoying and regaining our energy. A lot of it has been wonderfully fun, but the stress is starting to tell. When I do finally sit down and relax at the end of an evening – not much tv watching gets done. I’m asleep in about 15 minutes.

And the next day we do it all over again.
