You’re the experts on your dogs

Getting it right for the dogs

One of the things we truly miss about not having a bricks-and-mortar shop is hearing about your dogs. It was the highlight of every day – meeting your dogs, hearing about them, getting to see their cute little faces. If we’re going provide expert help for your dogs, we need to know what’s going on with them!

Almost as good

This week was a good one, though. We had some great conversations with dog owners kind enough to call us to voice their concerns. It was a chance to get centered on our retail roots – listening to customers and finding out what’s most important to them.

The most notable call we got was in response to our newsletter. The person was interested in our GG Naturals Dog Toothpaste. Being a cautious dog mom, she conducted an internet search of the ingredients. And was concerned enough to call us. She found some websites that say peppermint essential oil is toxic for dogs.

Everything’s on the internet

Years ago, when we were researching and developing our recipe for the toothpaste, we did exactly the same thing. With the addition of talking to dog nutrition and medical experts. We know the quantity of peppermint we use is safe.

That’s not the point. The crux of the matter is that someone, who loves dogs as much as we do, is concerned. Sufficiently worried to call us and give us a “heads up” notification. And we’re grateful to her.

Because no one should have to be convinced. If you’re not comfortable with our product, we know you have lots of options.

Trusting us

This person was kind enough to call. Which means that she knows that we care about dogs, she considers us trustworthy, and gave us an opportunity to adapt.

So we have. For this great dog mom, and everyone else who has concerns, we are now offering a Dog Toothpaste with Orange Essential Oil. Orange is not only non-toxic, it’s actually good for dogs.

It was fun going back to our roots in research and recipe-making. The first batch was a throw-away, but the kitchen smelled citrus-fresh for quite a while.

Listening to you is what we do

Whenever you have questions/concerns/news we should know, please do! We’re always looking for ways to be better at small dog stuff. After all, you’re the experts on your dogs.
